West Highland White Terriers

a high surrender breed in Tasmania

This is a good thing..
HOWEVER occasionally we are called upon to assist in re-homing a dog.

We provide a loving place for westie's who are surrendered for numerous reasons.  it could be health problems, marriage breakups, financial problems,

unsuitability of the dog with children.whatever the reason, we do not judge.

We respect the decision of the owner, and immediately act once the decision is made.  The dog becomes our priority.

We offer a facility where someone who has found themselves in the position that they need to surrender their dog,  they will not be judged.  They can be sure that we have the dogs best interests at heart and a perfect forever home will be found for them.  Westie Rescue and Rehoming Tasmania only re-home dogs that are signed over to us.

All dogs are immediately vet checked,  we assess their temperament, their needs, their personality.

If necessary, we undertake a rehabilitation regime under the care of our vet and or naturopath  and we seek advice from qualified dog behaviorist/trainer.

When we decide they are ready to find their forever home we review all adoption applications.   Compatability with a loving "forever home" will be the priority.   We do not guarrantee you a dog. You will be joining a waiting list and the wait could be long
